Our Prepress Capabilities

NPC has PDF workflow software that supports CMYK, Spot color and black and white output. As with all files, the PDF and the file it is created from must be properly built, or it will not print correctly. We will be happy to provide Distiller Settings files to assist in proper PDF creation.

Files may be uploaded to NPC prepress department by E-Mail or to our FTP site. There is no size limit on our E-Mail, but we prefer only files 5 Mb or smaller be sent this way. Our FTP site is accessible using either standard FTP software or through our web site which does not require any special software other than an up to date web browser. We also accept files on ZIP/JAZ disks, CD’s and DVD’s on both PC’s and Mac’s.

Our information management system, EFI-PACE, tracks time, material and the status of each job in the shop. This information is used in its estimating program to give accurate price information for future jobs.

NPC Express is our On-Line ordering and fulfillment program run on and accessed through our web site. It can be used as a catalog and for quick turn repetitive jobs requiring minor type changes.

Our work flow software is Heidelberg’s Prinect with in RIP trapping . Stripping is done on Heidelberg’s Signa imposition workstation.

Newman Printing Company now offers you all the advantages of Computer to Plate. Plate output is on a DS Screen 8000II plate setter on metal plates.

NPC uses PDF files as a “soft proof” for our customers to verify color breaks and text. These proofs may not match our color “Contract Proofs” due to monitor calibration variables.

Contract proofs are made on an HPZ2100 color proofer driven by the Heidelberg Prinect RIP. Color correction is by Heidelberg Print Open using an X-Rite DTP 41 Color Spectrophotometer. Digital blacklines are made on an HP1000 Spinjet proofer.

File storage is on an Apple Xserve server which is backed up daily. The back up is stored off site. Older job files are saved to DVD for later use as needed.
